Bangladesh Railways has started selling train tickets in advance from Tuesday morning for the home-bound people ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The home goers thronged at Kamalapur railway station to buy tickets. Ticket selling began at 9am.
Railway Minister Mazibul Hoque visited Kamalapur Railway station in the morning to monitor ticket sales.
Replying to a query about schedule collapse, the minister said: "We hope the schedule collapse problem will be solved within a day or two."
He informed that seven pairs of trains will be running ahead of eid.
Tickets for September 20 will be available on Tuesday while the return ticket for September 27 will be made available on the 23rd of the month.
A person can buy up to four tickets but the tickets will not be refunded.
Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on September 25.
