A suspected thief has been beaten to death by an angry mob at Baniarchala area in Gazipur.
Police recovered the body of Yusuf, 45, and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College morgue for autopsy on Thursday morning.
Hotapara police out-post In-Charge Sub-Inspector Azharul Islam said: “Some thieves entered into one Arif Hossain's cow shed around 2:30am Thursday in order to steal cattle.”
Sensing the matter, locals went to the spot and caught Yusuf while the others fled the scene.
He said angry mob beat Yusuf up leaving him dead on the spot.
