Turkish tech firm NETAS offers digital safety solutions for Dhaka

NETAS, a Turkish technology service provider, wants to develop a digital security surveillance system in Dhaka as the company has successful experience of such works in other cities like Istanbul, Tokyo, Sao Paulo and London.

C Mujdat Altay, chief executive officer of NETAS, proposed a project “Dhaka Electronic Security Systems Integration” at a discussion in Dhaka yesterday.

The company organised the event titled “To share digitalization and mobile experiences” at the Westin Hotel.

“We want to play a role in the government efforts to build a digital Bangladesh utilising our 47 years of experience in the field of information technologies,” Mujdat Altay.

He said NETAS was amongst the first ICT companies that had the highest brand equity in Turkey, and had been a pioneer in introducing many innovations in next generation technologies in the global market.

Selcan T Taskiran, chief marketing officer, said NETAS deployed city surveillance security systems, which were working successfully, in the world’s major cosmopolitan cities like Istanbul, Tokyo, Sao Paulo and London.  

He added the company had been serving Bangladeshi market for the past 16 years, with supports from Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Ltd in developing the country’s optical network.

He said NETAS also played an important role in the modernisation of the Turkish Armed Forces defence communication networks.

Yuksel Oztekin, chairman of NETAS board, Havelsan Hizir Konuk, Bangladesh country manager and Seda Sanem, brand marketing manager, also spoke at the function.
