12 Bangladeshis shot at Libya camp

At least 12 Bangladeshi migrants have received bullet wounds when a gang of gun-toting robbers swooped on their camp in Libya.

Mozammel Haque, counsellor (political) and charge d'affairs of Bangladesh Embassy in Libya, told the Dhaka Tribune: “A group of robbers equipped with firearms attacked a Libyan refugee camp, where some 100 Bangladeshi nationals reside.

“The criminals snatched cash money, mobile phone sets and other valuables from the victims and opened fire on the Bangladeshi migrants while they were fleeing the spot.”

Of the injured, the condition of one youth is stated to be critical and he is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of a local hospital, added the official.
