Seven activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been bullet wounded in a “gunfight” between two factions of the student wing of ruling Awami League at Balurchar in Sylhet.
Of the injured, three were identified as Muhin, Arafat and Moinul.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police ADC (sadar south) Jidan Al Musa said the groups locked into a “gunfight” over establishing supremacy in the area around 10:30pm Sunday.
He said: “On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.”
The injured were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet, the ADC said.
