Update : 06 Sep 2015, 01:02 PM

After being sick in Chittagong court custody, an accused of a drug case has died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Deceased, Khorshed Alam, 55, who was nabbed on Friday late night with 12 bottles of Phensedyl by Double Mooring Police Station, was produced before the court on Sunday, said Double Mooring police station Officer-in-Charge ASM Nurul Islam.

“Khorshed became sick in court custody while the court ordered to rush him in CMCH,” he said.

Later, Khorshed died in the hospital, he added.

Quoting the CMCH doctor, the CMCH police outpost’s In-charge Sub-Inspector Jahirul Islam said Khorshed was suffering from cardiac complexities.

The body was sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy while the OC Nurul Islam claimed the death was natural.
