Nobel laureate Professor Yunus has inaugurated the brand new NH Super Speciality Cancer Hospital in Mysore, built by Narayana Health Systems in the Indian state.
The inaugural programme took place on Friday while noted physician Dr Devi Shetty who established above 32 hospitals including the Narayana Health Systems across India was present as the chief guest during the event.
The hospital is the latest addition to the NH multi speciality hospital, popularly known as Mysore Health City, which was built being inspired by Professor Yunus’s philosophy aiming to provide the best health care at lowest cost to the people from low and lower middle income group.
Later, Yunus inaugurated Centenary Celebrations at University of Mysore, where he delivered a lecture on the occasion.
Marking its 100-year journey the university authorities hosted the programme and Prof Yunus gave the lecture on Redesigning Economics to Redesign the World.
There were about 1,500 participants in the event. Mysore University Vice-Chancellor ceremoniously greeted him with traditional Peta cap, shawl, and a detailed bust made of sandalwood.
There are over 70 Bangladeshi students at the university while above 1,500 students from 60 countries across the world.
