Who loves Lucy?

Update : 05 Sep 2015, 07:02 PM

We all appreciate biopics from time to time. And this round goes to one of the most famous stars in television history, Lucille Ball. It has just hit the airwaves that Cate Blanchett will be taking on the lead role of the late Lucille Ball. If that wasn’t enough, one of the best writers in Hollywood, Aaron Sorkin will be writing the script.

This hasn’t been set in stone, but according certain sources, Sorkin has been favoured to be the top choice in penning the project from Escape Artists. As expected, the film will centre around the life of the iconic actress who was nominated for 13 Emmys, while winning four times. In 1979, she also won the Golden Globe Cecil B DeMille Award.

Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr, the children of both Desi Arnaz and Lucielle, will be producing the film along with Escape Artists.

For those unfamiliar with Blanchett’s latest works, she was last seen in the Disney live-action hit, Cinderalla. She was aslo in the film Carol, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. This won’t be the only biopic Blanchett will be taking part of, as she is cast in the Dan Rather biopic, Truth. On the other end, Sorkin’s latests include The Social Network, Moneyball and the upcoming Steve Jobs, starring Michael Fassbender.
