Eight passengers have received severe electrical burns when a live electric wire fell upon a human hauler in the capital's Mohammadpur area.
Relatives of the victims told the Dhaka Tribune that the a live electric wire fell upon the Mohammadpur-bound leguna from Shyamoli around 10:30am Friday while it was passing through the Ring Road.
The injured were taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Agargaon.
Ahmed Seraji, assistant professor of plastic, burn and re-constructive surgery unit of the hospital, said four women and a 13-year-old boy are among the injured. “But, all the victims are now out of danger.”
Later, one Wahid Hossain, 24, who received seven percent burns, has been shifted to the City Hospital for better treatment, said the victim's uncle Ismail Hossain.
