Awareness among law enforcers for safer Internet

Apart from formulating law, panelists at a discussion yesterday put emphasis on building awareness among the people of all works to ensure Safer Internet in the country.

They also came to consent for the necessity of proper coordination among different government organizations and law enforcing agencies to thwart the cyber crimes.

Online newsportal bdnews24.com organized the dialogue in a city hotel focusing on security in the growing cyber society.

State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed and BTRC Director General Brig Gen M Emdad ul Bari attended the programme as the panelists.

Computer science teacher and researcher Dr Nova Ahmed and UNICEF’s communication, advocacy and partnership chief Shima Islam have also joined the session as discussants.

Bdnews24.com’s Chief Editor Toufique Imrose Khalidi moderated the dialogue.

Dr Nova Ahmed opted for prioritizing the own safety first before the use of internet. She said it should be needed to see the issue on priority basis whether anyone is spreading illusion using picture or any other information by collecting those from the social networking sites.
