Joint forces have arrested two persons for their suspected link to Myanmar insurgent group 'Arakan Army' from Thaitong para college gate in Rajasthali upazilla of Rangamati.
The arrestees were Cosoi Aung Marma, 42, and Mongchong Wang Marma, 39.
Officer-in-charge of Rajasthali police station M Wahidullah Sarkar said a team of army and police personnel conducted a joint drive in the area on Saturday and arrested them on suspicion for their alleged involvement with the insurgent group of 'Arakan Army'.
A case was filed under Anti-Terrorism Act with Rajasthali police station in this connection, said the OC.
On 27 August, a Myanmar citizen was arrested at Rajasthali, adjacent to Rangamati-Bandarban border, for his suspected link to Myanmar insurgent group 'Arakan Army' following a gunfight between BGB and the insurgent group members in Bandarban.
Local people said both the arrestees worked as caretaker of 'Arakan Army' in the area. Owner of the house, expatriate Renu Je Marma is absconding since the arrest of two persons.
With the financial assistant of the insurgent group, the house was constructed and used it as transit point for Myanmar insurgent Arakan Army, local people alleged.
