Three members of a family have been killed and four others injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch in Kulurbari area under Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur.
The deceased are Babul, 43, his wife Shilpi, 30, and their 10 months old son Abdullah.
Bakshiganj ASI Alauddin said: “The microbus plunged into a roadside ditch when its driver lost his control over the steering around 5:30am Saturday, killing the three on the spot.”
He said: “Babul and his family was returning from Dhaka with his younger brother, who is an expatriate from Saudi Arabia.”
The injured were given primary treatment in a local hospital.
Bakshiganj OC Mostasinur Rahman said microbus driver Abu Bakar has been detained after the accident.
