His body will be taken to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque where the third janaza will be held after Juma prayers.
Kazi Zafar Ahmed passed away on Thursday morning. He was 76.
He fell ill at his Gulshan residence while preparing to go to Chauddagram, Comilla around 7am. He was then taken to United Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 7:30am.
In November 2013, former president HM Ershad expelled Kazi Zafar from the party for making frequent statements against him “violating the party charter.”
On the same day, Kazi Zafar sent a suspension letter to Ershad claiming that he was the “all-in-all” of the Jatiya Party, not Ershad. But he also mentioned in the printed letter in handwriting that he had “expelled” the party chief.
Kazi Zafar had been a JP leader for over three decades.
In January 2014, he formed a party of the same name and joined the BNP-led alliance.
