Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali has again smoked on the stage during a view exchange meeting in the district town's Ghatura area.
Minister Mohsin first triggered huge criticism after smoking on the stage at a reception programme for school students in Sylhet on January 27. He later apologised.
While holding Thursday's meeting with the girls of Brahmanbaria Shishu Poribar, a government-run orphanage under his ministry, he also sang a song, habitually, and could not refrain from making jokes.
At that time, when the photojournalists wanted to take his picture, Mohsin's security staff asked them to step aside and allegedly misbehaved with the reporters.
He was scheduled to hold another meeting with the divisional officials of District Social Welfare Office around 11am. But, the meeting was canceled later.
Mohsin had been heard telling his security staff that he would not join the meeting as he was scheduled to attend another programme around 8pm in the capital.
Later, his motorcade left for Dhaka around 5:30pm.
