JL leader Rafiqul murder: Case filed against AL, BCL men

A case has been filed against some leaders and activists of Awami League and Chhatra League over the murder of Jubo League leader Rafiqul Islam in Gazipur.

A total of 20 to 22 leaders and activists of Awami League and Chhatra League were accused of the murder in the case.

Kaliakoir Jubo League former president Rafiqul was stabbed to death allegedly by rival group during a meeting to observe the National Mourning Day at Kaliakoir on Friday.

Rafiqul's elder brother Abdul Motaleb filed the case with Kaliakoir police station on Saturday evening.

Kaliakoir Sub-Inspector Rajib Khan said local Awami League Organising Secretary Md Akbor Ali, municipal Awami League Joint Convener Mosharaf Hossain Shikdar, upazila BRDB President Shikdar Johirul Islam, Kaliakoir municipal Chhatra League President Riaz Uddin and General Secretary Khawaf Mollah were accused in the case.

Two people-- Sohel and Mohammad Hossain-- were arrested in connection to the murder on the same night.
