Three people including a police constable have been killed after a bus rammed into a three-wheeler near Gournadi bus stand on Barisal-Dhaka highway.
Six others were also injured in the accident that took place around 9:15am Sunday.
The deceased are Zahid Hossain, 35, constable of Gournadi highway police station, Siraj Sardar, 56, a local businessman and Shahjada Sharif, 44, municipal secretary of Krishak Dal's Gournadi unit.
Gournadi highway police OC Syed Mahbub Hossain said the accident took place when the driver of the bus lost control over the steering and rammed into a battery-run auto-rickshaw.
The bodies were sent to Barisal SBMCH for autopsy.
Police seized the bus but its driver and helpers managed to flee from the scene.
