The 44th death anniversary of Shaheed Birshreshtho Flight Lieutenant M Motiur Rahman was observed at the Motiur Rahman Smriti Sangsad premises with due solemnity yesterday.
Jointly organised by Raipura Upazila Muktijoddah Sangsad and Shaheed Birshreshtho Motiur Rahman Smriti Sangsad, Speakers in the discussion said the heroic sacrifice of Flight Lt Motiur Rahman in the country’s liberation war very painful.
Speakers said in August 1971, Motiur Rahman tried to escape with a plane from Mashror Airport, Karachi to join the country’s liberation war, but he died when his plane unfortunately crashed near the Indian border on way to that country.
A Milad mahfil was also held at Muktijuddah Sangsad office and special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for the departed soul of Motiur Rahman.
