A man has died as a tiger statue at Sonargaon intersection in the city's Karwan Bazar area collapsed on him early Friday.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained.
Witnesses said the tiger sculpture near the Saarc fountain collapsed on a van driver, who was asleep near the statue, around 3:45am.
Sub Inspector of Kalabagan police station Thakur Das said the injured van driver was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died around 5am.
