The indefinite transport strike on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway has been called off around 4pm on Wednesday.
Selim Ahmed, president of the Sylhet District Road Transport Workers' Union, has confirmed about the strike withdrawal to the Dhaka Tribune.
An indefinite transport strike began on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway from 6am Wednesday, protesting the killing of a bus driver.
Sylhet District Road Transport Workers' Union has enforced the strike.
Selim Ahmed earlier said: “Agitated passengers beat a driver of Shyamoli Paribahan, Babul Devnath, dead in the capital's Syedabad area around 11pm Monday after he failed to reach the bus stand in due time.
“We called the indefinite transport strike on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway, protesting the murder and demanding punishment of the killers.”
