At least six policemen including three Sub-Inspectors have been injured in a clash with a group of yaba peddlers at Isanagar in Chittagong city.
The injured police members are SI Shahadat, SI Saiful, SI Salauddin Jahed, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shah Alam, constables Rokon and Abdul Malek.
However, police arrested the yaba peddler who was also injured in the clash. Arrested Shahed was admitted into CMCH.
Karnaphuli police station OC Rafikul Islam said police conducted drive to arrest listed Yaba peddler Shahed around 5pm Monday.
Sensing the presence of police, Shahed's cohorts pelted bricks on the police, leaving the six policemen injured.
Police opened three rounds of blank shots to bring the situation under control.
