A girl has allegedly committed suicide at Bahadurpur in Gazipur as she could not pass this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination.
The deceased is Chompa Akhter, 18, daughter of Chan Mia of the area. She appeared in the examination from Rovarpolli Degree College.
Hotapara oolice outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector Syed Azharul Islam said: “Chompa committed suicide by hanging herself around 8:30pm Sunday. We recovered the body around 11:30pm.”
The results of HSC examination was published on Sunday afternoon.
