The 91th birth anniversary of renowned artist SM Sultan is going to be observed in a befitting manner here today.
On the occasion, SM Sultan Foundation, the district administration and SM Sultan Birth Celebration Committee have chalked out day long programmes in the district town.
Moreover, SM Sultan Bengal Art College, various educational institutions and socio-cultural organisations would celebrate the famous artist’s birthday.
A four-day “Sultan Utsab” will be held in front of Sultan Mancha on Narail Government Victoria College premises from August 26 and the event will see the end through a boat race.
Sources said the day will be started with placing wreaths on Sultan’s Mazar while Qurankhani, Miladmahfil, Mazar ziarat, art competition and discussion will also be held in Shishu Swarga Auditorium.
When contacted, the foundation’s Member Secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku said they were prepared to celebrate the day through the programmes.
