The culprits behind the recent killings of children and slaying of bloggers would be brought to justice, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said.
She expressed her government's firm stance about delivering exemplary punishment to the persons responsible for torture on children and homicide in the name of religion, reports BSS.
The prime minister said she has already sat with the ministers, secretaries and senior officials concerned to bring the miscreants to book and deliver quick justice.
Addressing the 85th birth anniversary celebration programme of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa at Osmani Memorial Hall in Dhaka, the prime minister said there is no place for the persons involved in such heinous activities, militancy, terrorism and child abuse in Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina said the government has been making relentless efforts to combat those crimes.
Pointing out the killing of the bloggers, she said the government is not sitting idle.
But unfortunately stray incidents are going on despite the government's constant efforts to contain those.
The militants are making their multifarious efforts to carry on the militant and terrorist activities misguiding the innocent majority Muslim people of the country, she said.
Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh is a secular country where people of all religious belief and faith enjoy constitutional guarantee to live with their rights.
