Niloy Neel was a secular freethinker, an atheist and rationalist blogger. He wrote many blogs very critical to Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. One of his outstanding work was the role of women in Buddhism as far I can remember.
I knew him for few years. First time we met when we arranged Darwin day in Dhaka in 2010 or 2011. He joined there with us. He was a student of Dhaka university that time.
Later we met several times and he invited me when Indian Rationalist Probir Ghosh came to Bangladesh. He was very close to Mr. Probir Ghosh. I went to the meeting with him, and there we all together proposed to create "Bangladesh Rationalist Society".
He was one of the initiator of that proposal, as far I remember. He was also one of the founder member of Bangladesh Rationalist Society, and very dedicated member as well.
He explained how some religious leaders are cheating uneducated people using simple magic, and named it miracle of god! He was also very dedicated activist of Shahbag Protest. I met him in Shahbag at the very beginning of Ganajagaran Andolon.
I am very sorry Niloy. Last time I unfriended you from my facebook, and was very rough to you. I am sorry for everything. Please forgive me my friend.
I am sorry for his death, the death of a rationalist freethinker, writer, blogger and activist.
