A worker has been killed and two others were injured when the rooftop of a building collapsed in Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance (Bitac) area under Sagarika in the city Thursday.
Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Pahartali police station, said the rooftop of the building, built during the British period, collapsed on Moju Mia, 55, leaving him dead on the spot and two others injured.
The building owned by one Habibullah Ali, was used for storing 'Bangla Saban' and other products while it had been declared abandoned a long time ago, the OC said.
Of the injured, Abus Sukkur, 55, was admitted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital while the identity of the other could not be known immediately, the OC added.
