A Bangladeshi cattle trader has been tortured to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) near Nitpur border under Porsha upazila in Naogaon.
Deceased Jaria Mormu, 35, along with 10 to 12 others was returning from India with cattle when a BSF patrol team chased them on early Thursday.
"The BSF men captured Jaria while the others managed to flee. The BSF personnel beat up Jaria mercilessly and left him near pillar no 230. Jaria's fellows rescued him from the spot around 6am but he died on the way to his house," Naogaon 14 BGB Commanding Officer Lt Col Rafiqul Hasan said.
He said BGB sent a letter to BSF protesting the brutal killing.
