The prime accused in Rabiul murder case has given confessional statement before a Barguna court.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Boyjoyonti Bishwas recorded the statement of Miraj on Thursday morning.
In his statement, Miraj said Rabiul had been stealing fish from the area of a canal he used to catch fish.
"I was searching for Rabiul since a few days. I chased Rabiul on Monday midnight and beat him up with a stick. When he tried to flee away, I hit him on his forehead with my torch. Then Rabiul fell down on the ground and I dumped him to a nearby canal," Taltali police station OC Babul Akhtar quoted Miraj.
The floating body of Rabiul Awal, son of Dulal Mridha, was found in a canal on August 5. Rabiul was a student of Class IV of Farazibari Dakhil Madrasa.
