The body of a schoolboy, who went into missing in the Turag river two days ago, has been recovered from the river in Panshail area of Sadar upazila.
The victim, Emon Hossain, son of Darog Ali, of Karolsurichala area of Kaliakoir upazila, was a class-VIII student of Shafipur Ideal Public School.
Quoting the family members, Kaliakoir Fire Service and Civil Defence Station Officer Opurbo Bal said Emon along with fellow students of the school on Monday morning were cruising on the Turag river and they were on the way to Bhawal Mirzapur.
Accidentally Emon fell into the river in Golachipa area during gossiping with his friends and since then he remained missing.
Being informed, divers from Tongi conducted a drive in search of his body and finally their efforts ended in vain.
Later, locals spotted the body on the river around 7am Wednesday and informed his family members who identified the corpse.
