Anushka: sorry, but not sorry

Update : 31 Jul 2015, 06:59 PM

Anushka Sharma had an “Alia Bhatt” moment when she mistook the name of former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam. Two days after she had threatened to block people making negative comments, 27 year old actress Anushka Sharma gave herself reason enough to do so when she took to micro blogging site twitter to send condolences to former President Kalam, who died on Monday evening in Shillong.

She tweeted, “Very sad to hear about the passing of ABJ Kalam Azad. Loss of an inspiring visionary and a wonderful soul. May his soul RIP.”

Anushka realised her mistake soon and tried to correct it, but in vain. She got the name wrong once again. She deleted her previous tweets and finally got the name right in her third one. Twitterati were quick to pounce, showering heavy criticism on the Dil Dhadakne Do starlet. She may have said sorry, but she was quite strict in the handling of all those who chose to make fun of her mistake on various social media platforms. While interacting with the press at an event in Mumbai on July 28 she said, “It was an honest mistake and even though I got trolled, I don’t care because my intentions were correct. They are cowards, faceless people who comment sitting behind a computer. Do that to my face and we will see.”

Maybe the star has had enough scrutiny from the masses, with whom she just cannot get it right.
