Several organisations of public servants will meet Finance Minister AMA Muhith today and place their demand for retaining the provisions for time scale and selection grade in the new play scale.
The government is almost decided to execute the new pay structure excluding time scale and selection grade as these provisions as there is a shortage of posts.
The National Pay and Services Commission recommended dropping these provisions as they create scope for corruption and discrimination.
Three days ago, the finance minister said a report on the eighth pay scale will be placed before the regular cabinet meeting next week.
General Secretary of the Bangladesh Secretariat Administrative/Personal Officers Association, Md Abdul Mannaf, told Dhaka Tribune: “We will place our demand for retaining the two provisions – time scale and selection grade – in the new pay scale.”
General Secretary of the Bangladesh Sachibalaya Karmakarta Karmachari Okkaya Prishad, Mohammad Zakaria Hassan, told Dhaka Tribune: ”We have decided to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to press our demand for continuing two provisions.”
He also said that there was no use of the meeting the finance minister because he had already announced dropping the these provisions.
