Two siblings have drowned at a canal at Sawmill Para area under Mohalchhari upazila in Khagrachhari district.
Deceased Urmi Chakma, 07, and Anion Chakma, 03, are the offspring of Arben Chakma.
Mohalchhari police station OC Md Semaiun Kabir Chowdhury said Urmi and her younger brother Anion drowned in a canal while they were taking bath around 2:30pm Tuesday.
Locals rescued the duo immediately and took them to Mohalchhari Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
