A report on the eighth pay scale for public servants will be placed before cabinet meeting within a week, Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said.
The minister told the reporters after a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh English Medium School Association in the capital on Monday.
“The report on pay scale might be placed before next cabinet meeting,” said Muhith.
In the meeting, GN Nizam Uddin, general secretary of the association, has urged the government to withdraw vat imposed on the English medium schools and house rents.
When asked, Muhith said: “I have heard their demand; I would think what can be done on the matter.”
