Today is the 9th death anniversary of Novera Deepita, a journalist of The Daily Star and gold medalist student of the University of Dhaka.
The Novera Deepita Memorial Trust has organised several programmes to mark the day, says a press release. The programmes include offering prayers at her grave, a milad mahfil at an orphanage and the handing over of the
“Novera Deepita Memorial Scholarship.” The student who secured the highest marks in the BA (Hons) examinations under the Department of Mass Communications and Journalism of DU will receive the scholarship amounting Tk25,OOO, along with a certificate.
The trust has also completed all preparations for publishing a book on Novera, who passed away on this day in 2006.
