AJM Nasir Uddin has taken charge as the mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), nearly three months after the city polls.
Nasir formally took the charge from acting Mayor Mohammad Hossain at 12 noon Sunday at the city corporation auditorium.
After taking charge, Nasir said that he will bring a change to the CCC administration for removing all anomalies and ensuring better services to the city dwellers.
He reaffirmed that he will try to fulfil his pre-election pledges with utmost honesty and sincerity.
Speaking at the function, the city mayor vowed to end water logging in the city gradually.
The 41 ward councilors and 14 women reserved councilors of the CCC also took charge of their offices in the day.
Elections to the Chittagong City Corporation election was held on April 28. The BNP boycotted the election alleging vote rigging.
