Police have detained another accused in a case filed over the brutal killing of 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon.
The arrestee is Ayaj Ali, 40, of Sheikhpara village.
A joint team of Detective Branch and Jalalabadh police picked him up from the city's Kumargaon area around 1am Saturday, said Jalalabadh OC Akhter Hossain.
He said: “We have arrested 13 accused in the murder case so far.”
The ill-fated teenager was tortured to death by a group of persons at Kumargaon on the outskirts of Sylhet city around 7:30am on July 8.
A murder case was filed in this regard by Jalalabad police, in which Rajon’s father later became a plaintiff.
One Muhit was caught red-handed while trying to dump the body of Rajon.
Later, he was listed as the prime accused in the case, while his brother Kamrul Islam, 24, their accomplice Ali Haider, 34, and guard Moyna Miah, 45, were charged with murder as well.
