Three people, including a woman and her one an a half years old son, have drowned in a local swamp in the district's Ajmeriganj upazila.
The deceased are Amina Khatun, 30, her son Jihad, and one Idris Ali.
Ajmeriganj police station OC Toiyemur Bakht Chowdhury said: “Three people were killed when a boat carrying them sank in Ajmeriganj Haor around 6pm Thursday.
“The locals have rescued two people.”
