2 arrested over Chittagong landslide cases

Police have arrested two persons in a case filed over the death of three children of a family in a landslide in Chittagong.

The arrestees are Md Mohiuddin, Md Sohel, owners of the landslide house, said Bayezid OC Pradip Kumar Das.

Earlier, Bayezid police station SI Abdur rahman had filed a murder case against them.

On Sunday, three members of a family were killed in a landslide in Amin Colony area of Bayezid Bostami.

The deceased were identified as Shahjahan’s son Farid, 12, and his two daughters Ummay Salma, 2, and Bibi Moriam, 5.

Another case was filed against Khokan Ali in connection to a wall collapse that claimed three lives in Lalkhan Bazaar’s Pura Colony area.

Khulshi Police station SI Russel Mahmud filed a murder case against house owner Khokan, said Khulshi OC Nizam Uddin.

Three people, two of them of a same family, were killed in a wall collapse caused due to heavy downpours in the area of the port city on Sunday.

The deceased are Moriam Begum, 30, her daughter Suraia, 2, and another Akhi, 5.
