Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and UK on Friday after Shawal moon was sighted in various parts of the Middle East on Thursday evening.
The government controlled Dubai media office confirmed in a belated fashion that the UAE will be celebrating Eid on Friday, reports The Express Tribune.
The announcement was made after Saudi Arabia confirmed sighting the moon, said the Khaleej Times.
Oman, Iraq, however, are not going to celebrate the occasion on Friday like other Gulf Cooperation Council countries since the Shawwal moon was not sighted there.
Following month-long fasting, Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr right after the month of Ramadan.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country Saturday if the moon of the month of Shawwal is sighted in Bangladesh sky Friday.
