A suspected hijacker has been killed in a “gunfight” with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Taltola in the capital's Agargaon area.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Masudul Alam said some hijackers locked into a “gunfight” with a patrolling team of RAB around 2:30am Thursday.
He said: “One of the hijackers was killed in the incident while the others fled the scene.”
Meanwhile, two foreign pistols and ammunitions were recovered from the spot.
