Tigers seal historic ODI series against South Africa

Tigers have sealed the historic three match ODI series against South Africa by nine wickets in Chittagong.

A solid opening stand helped Bangladesh to seal their first ever bilateral series win over South Africa. They clinched the series 2-1.

The suburb opening stand by Tamim Iqbal and Summya Sarker are propelling tigers to clinch their third straight home series win with a confident breath.   

The opening duo made an outstanding 154-run partnership.

Soumya Sarkar had slashed Proteous bowling attack scoring 90 runs off 75 balls. The passionate Soumya hit 13 groundbreaking boundaries and a whirlwind maximum.

Tamim Iqbal hit a sensible innings of 61 runs off 77 balls hitting 7 fabulous boundaries with his own style.

Soumya Sarkar adjudged man of the match also player of the series.

The 170-run target was adjusted for Bangladesh according to Duckworth-Lewis system.

Bangladesh bundled out visiting South Africa within 168 in 40 overs.

The play began at 3pm on Wednesday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

Bangladesh defeated the visitors by seven wickets in the second match and leveled the three-match ODI series by 1-1 at Mirpur, Dhaka.

They have never been closer than they are right now to an ODI series win against South Africa. The two sides have faced each other in three ODI series in the past with the Proteas winning them all convincingly.

The Tigers have been flying high in recent times following their triumphs over sub-continent powerhouses Pakistan and India and they can go one better today by overcoming the formidable Proteas.
