The holy Shab-e-Qadr or Lailatul Qadr will be observed on Tuesday night through offering special prayers.
The first verses of the holy Quran were revealed to the Greatest Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on that night.
According to the Holy Quran, the night is better than a thousand nights as the angels and the spirit descend therein, by the permission of Almighty Allah with all decrees.
This is one of the holiest and most blessed nights, which is likely to occur on one of the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan and most likely to be the 27th of the holy month.
Muslim devotees will offer special prayers overnight at mosques and homes, seeking divine blessings and mercy of Almighty Allah for themselves as well as the country and the Muslim Ummah.
President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of the Opposition Begum Rowshan Ershad and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia greeted the countrymen and the Muslims across the world on the occasion of the holy Lailatul Qadr.
Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private TV channels will air special programmes highlighting the significance of the holy night.
