Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain has formally joined the office at LGRD Ministry.
Before joining office, Khandker Mosharraf met Syed Ashraful Islam at the latter's residence on Sunday morning.
The minister came to the ministry around 11:30am. Acting Secretary Abdul Malek received him at the office.
He has been given the additional charge of the ministry replacing Syed Ashraful Islam.
Syed Ashraful Islam was relieved of his duties and made a minister without portfolio on Thursday.
Also the general secretary of the ruling Awami League, Syed Ashraf had been serving as the LGRD minister since the party came to power in 2009. The same year he was made the party’s general secretary. He retained his position after the party returned to power last year.
