RAB arrested three smugglers – Ruhul Amin, Rony Talukder and Atiar Rahman – during the operation on Thursday morning.
A tally of the rescued birds showed the rescued were – 302 munias, 75 shaliks, 24 totas and 1,050 parrots.
RAB-7 Commander Shafayat Jamil said: “These birds were rescued cages hidden in different parts of Feni” when he spoke to the press on Thursday.
He also said that a case has been filed against the three arrested persons while the birds have been handed over to the district's forest department authority.
Feni Forest Department Officer SM Kaisar later said the birds have been released into the forests where they belong.
