The prime minister said the government is trying to reorganise the capital’s public transport system to ease traffic congestion and ensure public safety.
Responding to a query of a lawmaker, the premier told parliament that the city would be divided into five zones and road communications would be restructured for smooth bus service under management of different companies.
Sheikh Hasina said the plan would be finalised in consultation with the stakeholders. The prime minister also said 13 projects under public and private partnership are being implemented to improve road communications between the capital and districts.
