The new cabinet of Bangladesh Unity Federation of Los Angeles (BUFLA) for the year 2015-2016 has been elected with Major (Retd) Enamul Hamid as the President and Lt (Retd) AFM Ziaul Islam as General Secretary, according to a press release issued on Monday.
Mohammed Sayedul Hoq was elected as Vice President, while Mohammed Ashraf Hossain (Babul) as Treasurer, Ahsan Hafeez as Organizing Secretary, Saiful Chowdhury as Public Relations Secretary and Shahnag Bulbul as Cultural Secretary.
The BOT members Mr. Nasimul Gani and Mr. Habib Ahmed Tia conducted the election process.
As the Federation of all Bangladeshi Organizations in Los Angeles, the BUFLA plays a crucial role in promoting Bangldeshi interests locally, federally and internationally.
It is also very active in the Non Profit circles in donating food and organizing health clinics in USA for the last 9 years.
The BUFLA had been distributing blankets in Bangladesh for the last 4 years. The BUFLA had been involved in relief efforts for flood victims in Bangladesh and the horrific typhoon in Phillipines.
BUFLA’s effort was instrumental in making the Little Bangladesh enclave in the heart of Los Angeles. Now “Little Bangladesh” is a city chartered historical site.
