Four people have died after inhaling toxic gas of a septic tank at Goali Maddyapara village in Naogaon Sadar upazila.
The deceased are identified as Imtiaz, 21, Ratan, 35, Babu, 30, and Dilbar Ali, 45.
Zakirul Islam, Naogaon Sadar OC, confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
Zakirul said construction worker Ratan, at first, went inside a septic tank of a residential house at the village to identify a problem on Tuesday morning.
Finding no response from him, building owner Imtiaz entered the tank to know the fact.
But no response came from Imtiaz also. Then neighbours Babu and Dilbar entered into the tank.
In this case, the same incident took place. Later, locals broke the septic tank and found Ratan dead and three others in unconscious state.
The injured were rushed to Naogaon Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead, said the OC.
