Indefinite transport strike in Kishoreganj, enforced by the district’s Transport Owners’ Association continued for the two consecutive day yesterday, causing immense sufferings to the commuters.
The transport owners enforced the strike on Sunday morning demanding punishment of the leaders of the Road Transport Workers’ Union for enforcing a transport strike on Saturday. The strike called by the union was later postponed.
Alamgir Murad Reza, general secretary of the Transport Owners’ Association, said alleged that the workers union enforced a strike without informing it to the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
“The association will continue their strike until the union leaders are brought to the book,” he added.
Visiting Gaital Bus Stand and Batrish Bus Stand areas, it was found yesterday different bus counters sitting idle and some napping.
