Bangladesh Bank will release new currency notes worth Tk22,000 crore in the market ahead of Eid ul-Fitr.
The new notes will be distributed from July 2 to July 16 from all counters of Bangladesh Bank office, according to a press release Bangladesh Bank issued yesterday.
The new note of Tk10 denomination will be distributed from July 7.
A person will not be allowed to collect notes more than once, but Bangladesh Bank coin counter will supply coins continuously to meet the people’s demand.
The bank branches that will supply new notes of Tk1 to Tk50 are Jatrabari branch of National Bank, Abdul Gani Road branch of Janata Bank, Elephant road branch of Agrani Bank, Mirpur branch of Prime Bank, Karwan bazar branch of Southeast Bank, Bashundhara City branch of SIBL, Chockbazar branch of Uttara Bank, Ramna branch of Sonali Bank, Uttara branch of Dhaka Bank, Gulshan branch of IFIC Bank, Mohakhali branch of Rupali Bank, Mohammadpur branch of First Security Islami Bank.
The banks will also release new notes of Tk100, Tk500 and Tk1,000 denominations through branches of commercial banks.
