Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday said people in 60 countries around the world watch programmes of BTV, BTV World and Sangsad TV.
In response to a question during the budget discussion in the parliament, he said viewers in neighbouring India can also watch programmes of the three channels.
“BTV and private television channels are airing programmes in different parts of the world through cable networks and also on the internet,” said Inu.
The information minister also said people in America, Canada and Malaysia watch BTV programmes through IPTV and Web TV.
“We are in the process of inking a deal with India’s Doordarshan for broadcasting BTV programmes.”
