Fast and Furious 7 had to scoot over a little too fast. The recent instalment of the dino drama, Jurassic World has smashed Fast and Furious 7’s box office record after making 1 billion dollars in the shortest time ever. Now that’s what we call Fast and Furious! Jurassic World taking the world by storm was only a matter of time. After two consecutive flop sequels in the franchisee, director Colin Trevorrow finally got the formula right. Jurassic World has been the cherry on top for what has been a banner year for Universal Studios. Along with Jurassic World, the studio’s other release Fast and Furious 7 was crowned the third highest-grossing movie of all time, beating The Avengers on the way.
Fifty shades of Grey and Pitch Perfect 2 have also proved to be huge money-spinners making the last 12 months the most financially solid for Universal studios in its 103 year history.
